Correct use and maintenance of hydraulic hoses
Hydraulic hoses are widely used in system piping. However, in actual use, due to improper use and maintenance, the hydraulic hose leaks more failures. Therefore, the correct use and maintenance of hydraulic hose can extend its service life and increase its reliability.
1 hydraulic hose leakage fault analysis
(1) The oil leaks due to the reduced service life of the hydraulic hose due to improper installation of the hose. When the hose is installed, if the pipe is twisted or the bending radius is small, the neutral angle of the reinforcing layer will deviate from the theoretical neutral angle, which will cause the bearing capacity of the hose to drop significantly, leading to the hose bursting ahead and causing oil leakage. At that time, the hydraulic hose life will be reduced to 70% of the original life.
(2) The ambient temperature of the hose used exceeds the allowable range, causing the material of the hose to age and harden and burst oil. Due to the limitations of hose material properties, there should be a suitable operating temperature range. If the oil temperature of the hydraulic system or the operating temperature of the hydraulic hose is too high, the hose material will prematurely age and harden to rupture the oil.
(3) The hose itself is defective, and there are scratches on the outside or frequent friction with other components during the work, which will lead to a shortened service life of the hose and premature rupture of the oil.
2 How to properly use and maintain the hydraulic hose
(1) The correct installation of the hydraulic hose can eliminate the additional pressure on the reinforcing layer of the hydraulic hose and prolong its service life.
1 When installing the hose, the bending radius should not be too small, generally should not be less than 9 to 10 times the outer diameter of the hose. The joint between the hose and the joint should have a straight section, and its length should not be less than 2 times the outer diameter of the hose.
2 The length of the hydraulic hose should take into account the contraction and deformation of the hydraulic hose in the length direction after passing through the pressure. Generally, the shrinkage is 3% to 4% of the total length of the hydraulic hose. Therefore, when installing the hose, avoid tension.
3 When installing the hydraulic hose, ensure that it is not twisted. For ease of installation, an axial color pattern can be drawn on the hose to check if the hose is twisted during installation. At the same time, the direction of the axis of the hose joint is as far as possible in the moving plane of the moving part, so as to avoid distortion of the rubber hose at one end when the part moves. If the hydraulic hose connector is not in the same plane, you can install a pipe card in an appropriate position. The tube card divides the hose into two sections, each in its own plane, to ensure that the hose does not twist when moving at one end.
4 The fixing of the hydraulic hose should minimize the use of the tube card to avoid the increase of the internal stress of the hose during movement.
(2) The hoses working in high temperature areas should be covered with insulation. At the same time, it is recommended that the replacement cycle of the hose in the high temperature zone should be shortened appropriately.
(3) The protective layer (artificial leather, etc.) shall be added to the hoses with relative motion parts so as to prevent the hoses from being worn and burst prematurely.
(4) Pay attention to check the leakage of the hose at ordinary times and find that the oil should be replaced in time. In addition, the outside of the hose should be kept clean to prevent corrosive media such as acids and alkalis from contacting the hydraulic hose.
